Civic Engagement

Our lives and communities are affected daily by the physical spaces, infrastructure, and investments (or lock thereof) made in our city and neighborhoods. BLDG Memphis works with our members and stakeholders to come to a shared understanding of how those decisions, which are often complex and sometimes less than inclusive, affect the built and natural environments surrounding us and shape how we interact and connect with one another. In addition to our work directly with our members - be they CDCs, other agencies, or individuals - BLDG Memphis also hosts regular conversations in public spaces to help our network and the Memphis community find a stronger voice in how we move forward together as a community.

This can be by holding a dialogue with professionals guiding planning and development, gathering together to discuss exciting literature on how communities are structured and operate, or just being in spaces to hear from others who are passionate about the places in which they live, learn, work, and play.
