The Neighborhood & Local Governments working group advocates for policies and legislation that will improve and secure more public sector support and investment for neighborhoods, strengthen relations between neighborhood leaders and public agencies, and address resource or knowledge gaps between government agencies and the community

2021 Policy Priorities:
The Neighborhood & Local Government Work group ensures that community voices are represented at decision making tables.
This year the work group will focus on:
- Reviewing local policies related to land use and advocate for improved planning and practices
- Supporting local legislative priorities that improve the neighborhood revitalization efforts in community development
In 2021, City of Memphis announced Accelerate Memphis with the intent of activating neighborhood anchors and investing in community development projects across the cities.
